Life was not a piece of cake for Hanna as she was born with dwarfism. She was immediately put up for adoption. Months and months passed on and no one seems to have wanted her. However, the moment a lovely couple Jackie and Larry arrived, her life was filled with love. Luckily, she was raised in a beautiful family. She now had parents and three siblings too.
It was not easy to raise Hanna, however, they made the choice to do so and made and it was only a matter of time when they would know that it’s the best decision they had ever made.
The Difference was Inevitable and She Knew It
She knew that she was different from a young age. She wasn’t growing with other kids or her siblings. Her parents told her about her condition; primordial dwarfism. Hanna learnt that she was a special child and that only hundred people were born with the disease. The thing she didn’t know was that difficulties have only begun and the most challenging part (high school) was yet to come.
Along with numerous health complications to deal with, she was constantly bullied. At 19 years of age, she looked like a 5-year-old. Her crush told her that she would always be along and no one will date her. Her siblings came to the rescue. They always stood by her side when people tried to bully her and loved her to death. It frustrated her that everyone thought of her as a little child. She was constantly at the doctors due to her numerous health issues. It was a lot to handle for her.
Her Family Served as Strength
Her family loved her unconditionally, they made special alterations to the house to give her a sense of normality. Her life at home was no less than a fairy tale but soon things changed for the family when her mom; Jackie found out that she was struggling with a kidney disease and needed a transplant. As soon as Hanna found about it, she went to the doctor to know whether she was a perfect match for her mom or not.
Returning the Favor
Despite the doctor telling her that there were risks involved in the surgery, she went for it and saved the life of her mom who was once her savvier in the time when absolutely no one wanted her.
Any One can Dream Big
Hannah was interested in dancing since a very young age. She begins dancing when she was to and started doing gymnastics at the age of three. She further went on to explore acting and singing as well. She found joy in her creativity despite the aches in her body due to her condition. She is a prime example of believing in oneself. She truly embodies the saying; if you truly set your mind to it, you can achieve it. She continued with the thing that brought her joy and never cared about what people will say about her.
Living Everyday as it was Last!!!
She knows the fact that she might not live past 30 but this serves as a motivation to her as she lives every day as it was her last. She idealized Selena Gomes and her dreams were realized in The Maury Show’s 2,500th episode when she met her. But, this was only the start of a new beginning as Selena helped her out with her career as well. She did several projects for TV and did some movies too. But her breakthrough project was a documentary named; “Little and Looking for Love” where she expressed her desire to have a soulmate like other people. While she may not have found Mr Right, she certainly has no shortage of men in her life.
Another Major Challenge
As if these challenges were not enough, life decided to throw another curve ball at Hannah. She lost her friend Brad Jordon. He also struggled with the same condition and died in 2017 due to a heart attack. On one hand, it deeply saddened Hannah but also made her face the realities of her life.
Her Support Squad
She is an extremely lucky girl when it comes to her support squad. Her family still serves as a strong foundation for her. She has a solid group of girlfriends, with whom she spends her free time with. One of her friends also owns a boat and Hannah has certainly had many fun times on it.
Last but not the least, Hannah preaches one thing and that is to live the life to its fullest. No matter what life throws at you, you can always turn a negative situation into a positive one. Hannah, you sure are an inspiration.
