One of the best photographers of the 20th century is Ansel Adams. We might be close to figuring out just why. Elliot McGucket, a photographer and photography critic has noticed that most of Adams’ images perfectly fit the golden ratio. The golden ratio is believed to be the ultimate criteria for beauty in the human brain.
“Great artists have used the Golden Ratio is their art to make it seem more beautiful. This is the same ratio that is present in our bones and facial features.” McGucken tells PetaPixel. Whether the golden ratio was incorporated knowingly or by coincidence will always remain a mystery. But these images are for sure harmoniously beautiful.
